Dr. Sumaya Falak Memon is an Assistant Professor in the Chaudhry Nazar Muhammad (CNM) Department of Economics at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). She completed her Ph.D. in Economics at Binghamton University in May 2026 as a Fulbright Scholar. Her research lies at the intersection of empirical industrial organization and environmental economics, focusing on firms’ environmental decisions, pollution prevention, and productivity. Her work on pollution prevention and firm efficiency has been published in the International Journal of Industrial Organization. Her ongoing research examines firms’ choices between pollution prevention and green innovation, firm adjustment to electricity market liberalization, and the effects of environmental investments and green patent policies.
